Wrestling With Decisions

UPDATE: The Wednesday Evening Meal has been cancelled this week. Also, there will be no Parish Nurse in the office this afternoon.

Well here we are, coming off of a pretty significant snowfall with another one possibly on the way tomorrow night or Wednesday.

As always, many factors went into the decision to cancel services...the sun came out late Saturday and was out again Sunday morning and most of the local roads were relatively clear.

However we had a real problem with the parking lot on two levels...first, the challenge of clearing that amount of snow from the lots (and finding a place for it) quickly became apparent once crews were able to arrive at the church. Second, as the snow was being cleared it became packed down pretty hard in some areas - especially in front of the church - and with cold temperatures forecast for Sunday morning, we knew that the areas that were cleared would be pretty slippery. The same things held true for the Super Bowl Party, and in the end we felt it best to allow the snow crew to take the time they needed to work on the lots and not take any chances.

Because Pastors Ray and Brian were going to be wrapping up their sermon series' yesterday, they will go ahead and bring their messages this coming Sunday and Pastors Buck and Bill will simply be moved back a week.

We'll provide updates on the status of the Wednesday Evening Services as things become clearer over the course of the next 24-36 hours.
