Our Youth Group spent a day at Raystown Lake a week ago Sunday.

A beautiful warm September day greeted the approximately 59 youth and 20 adults - a far cry from the rain that fell on Saturday.

The bus, van and several trucks with boats headed out around 8:45 - destination Raystown Lake.

This is our second year trekking up to the lake and for those who've experienced the trip they're excited.  The journey up twisty back roads pays off well as we pull into the pavilion and unload.

Under the pavilion, the youth had a time of praise and worship followed by a short message from Pastor Todd and then ate lunch (hot dogs, munchies, fruit, sweet cakes and soda - every teen's favorite meal).   Following lunch we loaded back in the bus and headed to the water.

Youth were able to ride on pontoon boats, wakeboard, water tube, canoe or simply spend the day on the beach relaxing. It was exciting to see our youth making friends with other youth and willing to "step out of their comfort zone" to spend time with others.  One senior girl spent time getting to meet the new 7th grade girls coming into our group. Some canoed around the lake; others simply tossed the football with each other.

Following an incredibly beautiful, warm afternoon we loaded the youths back into the bus and headed back home.  We thank God for the blessing of safety as we traveled safety on the lake and above all the time spent fellowshipping with others.
