Chair By Chair
Did you take time to read the flyer that appeared in your church mailbox this past weekend? The one that gave an update on where we stand with our Chair Fund.
We have passed the 400 mark in our drive to purchase 621 chairs for our new auditorium. Last summer, when we were faced with raising approximately $110,000 in a depressed economy, the task seemed very large. However many people have been working and giving and we are moving ever closer to our goal.
In the article, the question was asked: "WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?" Here were the answers given:
1. Purchase a chair or part of a chair for your family. If each of us do something we can reach our goal.
2. Do something as a family to earn money to purchase a chair (yard sale, craft sale, etc.)
3. Consider participating in one or more of our fund raisers. Remember, whether or not you participate is up to you. Never feel pressured to participate in every fund raiser the comes along.
4. Organize a fund raiser. Check with the church office and get your idea approved before you begin.
5. Purchase one of the remaining 14 Keepsake Pens. All of this money goes directly to our Chair Fund.
Future Fund Raisers
1. Scrapbooking/Craft Weekend...Friday, April 30 and Saturday, May 1. Held in the Worship Center. For more information contact Jacki Hord at 717-860-1875 or Beth Swankler at gbswankler@pa.net.
2. Spring Family Fund Raising Dinner...Saturday, May 8 in the Worship Center. After dinner the Social Events Committee will be offering the Five Forks version of the "Family Feud." Contact the Church Office for tickets ($10 per person...children 3 and under eat free.)
3. Eating Out at Fuddruckers...Chambersburg. Tuesday, June 15th and Thursday, June 17th. More information coming soon.
