Meals To Heal

We're very thankful for all of the dedicated volunteers that we have here at Five Forks. Many people give sacrificially in order to minister to those in the church or the community.

Home-Delivered Meals is one of the churches vital ministries. If you've ever been on the receiving end of this ministry, you know first-hand what it means to be blessed by one of these meals.

Background: Home-cooked meals have been delivered to those in our congregation as they recover from illness or a hospital stay. Once the church office is notified that someone will be in the hospital for surgery, or to have a baby, or is very ill...the church office notifies that person's Deacon who calls Joyce Hade, our meal coordinator. Joyce will then call the family to let them know that we are happy to provide a few meals (usually up to 3) for them as they recover.

Joyce inquires about food allergies and preferences. She also finds a time that is suitable for the meals to be delivered, as well as how many family members there are. Then Joyce will call someone on the volunteer list (this is where you may come in) who lives in the same area as the family who is in need to arrange for them to provide a meal.

While we could use volunteers from all areas (Greencastle, Chambersburg, Fayetteville)...we are in dire need of volunteers from the Waynesboro area. Because a majority of our congregation is from Waynesboro, a majority of the people in need come from the Waynesboro area. And so, in order not to call on the same volunteers all of the time, we need a large pool of meal makers from the Waynesboro area.

If you would be willing to serve behind the scenes in a ministry that goes to the heart of Christian service, please contact the church office by email or by calling 762-2991.

Thank You!
