Kevin and Jeanne spoke at Five Forks on a Wednesday evening over five years ago. They have been back to speak on several occassions...Kevin was our guest speaker during one of our Revival/Renewal Services several years back. They are living in New York City working with the international community. We support them financially by setting aside money each year in our Spending Plan.

Thank you so much for your continued prayers for us! Fall is always an extremely busy time here, as I’m sure it is for you. We have been actively reaching out to students and trying to make personal contact with many of them. (Most are graduate students between the ages of 25-40.) Our conversation groups have begun on the campuses of Columbia University, NYU, and Baruch College. This year, the number of students who have shown interest in our programs has been overwhelming!
To give you an idea of how we meet and follow-up students:
We collect email addresses on campus of all international students interested in English conversation groups and other activities.
We advertise various conversation groups (at least one is held every day of the week)
When they attend, students fill out “Get to Know You” sheets which inform us of their interests. These sheets include a spiritual interest section, where students can rate their level of spiritual interest, and indicate if they would like to attend a Bible study, receive a Bible, attend a church, or meet with someone to learn more about Christianity.
We do our best over the next several weeks to follow-up with students in their areas of interest.
We also offer activities occasionally to have more interaction with the students, especially those who seem spiritually hungry. In August, we had a Saturday brunch; in September we had a game night and also an international dinner at our home. This week we are having an American cooking class (taught by me, believe it or not!!! My mother can’t believe it.) and Saturday we will take a hiking trip to see the autumn leaves.
We also try to get together with students individually for meals or coffee and share Christ through our personal relationships. In one case this semester, a Muslim girl indicated absolutely no spiritual interest on her “Get to Know You” sheet but attended Kevin’s Bible study and confessed that God is drawing her to Himself. Please pray for these students, as we develop relationships and share Christ’s love.
Our ultimate goal is to see them accept Christ, and become part of the house church, where they will be discipled and given the vision to return home with the gospel.
Kevin was able to travel in September to spend time with Michael in Japan and with Ted in L.A. You may remember that Michael is planting a house church in Tokyo, and he and Kevin were able to spend some quality time together, continuing his training. Ted was the leader of our Chinese-speaking house church in NYC, but is now in L.A. for a year or two before returning to Taiwan. It is sometimes a difficult transition to leave a healthy, supportive environment to arrive in a new place and begin a new job with demanding responsibilities. Kevin was able to encourage him and Sharon, and we are continuing to pray that God will use them to reach Chinese in their predominantly Asian community.
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and support. Please join us in praying for these students earnestly, that God will break down barriers and open their minds to understand that He is “the life that is truly life.” (1 Tim. 6:19)
In Him,
Kevin and Jeanne
