Pastor
Eric Hartshaw, with his wife, Sherri, and children, Yvonne and Garrett – August
2006.
Eric
& Sherri moved to Williamsport from southern PA in 1988 to open a Garden
Center and began attending Montoursville BIC. Eric helped with teaching and
preaching as needed in the years that he owned Eagle Mountain Garden Center.
When Eagle Mountain closed in 1998, and we were without a pastor, Eric was
asked to fill in as pulpit supply. That experience and the call of God on his
life, led Eric to accept the position of part-time pastor of Montoursville BIC
in April 1999. After further study and the completion of his doctrinal
questionnaire, Eric was officially licensed in 2000. He continues his studies
toward ordination.
Eric
enjoys preaching and teaching and talking with people of all ages. He is a
people person. He has a strong vision for the growth of our church and desires
for others to get excited about what God is doing in the lives of His people.
Eric enjoys hunting and the great outdoors and is an avid NASCAR fan.
Sherri
works full time for Trinity Episcopal Church as administrator and bookkeeper.
She is also the church secretary for Montoursville BIC and assists Eric in his
role as pastor in many ways. She enjoys spending time with her family, being
outdoors, reading, photography and going to the beach.
Yvonne
is a freshman at Houghton College in Houghton, New York.
She likes organizing things, swimming, listening to music and hunting with her dad.
Garrett
is 16 and a junior at Montoursville High School. He plays trombone in
marching band and jazz band, is a member of the National Honor Society, Academic Decathalon and Theater. He loves to read (especially Sci Fi), do computer programming, and invent things.
He is planning to travel to China this summer with People to People International.
