Stayner Brethren In Christ Church

The ministries of the Brethren In Christ are committed to a growing knowledge and understanding of the Bible and its application for today. Though we value our denominational heritage, we also consider ourselves in partnership with all churches where the Bible is accepted and proclaimed as God-inspired authority for spiritual truth and living. The Purpose of the Stayner Brethren In Christ Church is to worship God; evangelize the unsaved; disciple believers; and to practice the love of Christ through a caring fellowship and compassionate ministries.

Stayner BIC’s Vision for a Transformational Church

To Worship God:  We dream of providing alternate services that provide the kind of worship that inspires believers of all ages to glorify God and experience the power of His presence. We aim to have at least one of these services with a format that would relate to seekers and the believers who invite them.  Our continued objective will be to provide a quality nursery and children’s program that runs concurrently with each of the adult services.

To Evangelize the Unsaved:  We dream of having at least one person receive Christ and be baptized each year for every ten persons in regular church attendance.  We aim to reach people for Christ through various avenues such as friendship evangelism, compassionate ministries that specifically target the needs of the unsaved; annual outreach (bridge) events; discovery and new comer classes; small groups, the morning worship services and home visitation.

We dream of planting a daughter church in one of the fast growing neighborhood communities.

To Disciple Believers:  We dream of having each of our members be taught, motivated and equipped toward spiritual maturity in Christ and Christian service.

Caring Fellowship:   We dream of having 100% of our regular attendees committed to active participation in a small group where group members can put into practice the “one another” passages of the New Testament.  We aim for the pastoral care needs of the congregation to be largely met through the small fellowship groups.

Compassionate Ministries & Missions: We dream of  having a regular line item in our annual budget to support people in our church to provide leadership of programs or projects that demonstrate the love of Christ for the people of our community.

We will continue to support BIC World Missions through our corporate giving while organizing and/or sponsoring specific mission projects with funds and participation to impact our world for Christ."
