What is T.I.M.S.?

Teens In Missionary Service provides ministry opportunities for individuals and youth groups to do service oriented projects for economically and physically dis-advantaged homeowners.

Our goal is to:

  • Develop gifts in participating youth – 1 Corinthians 12:27
  • Develop relationships with our neighbors to open their hearts to the gospel. – Acts 14:21 -22
  • And mobilize teens to share their faith with others outside the camp experience. – Matthew 28:19-20

• July 25th – 31st

• August 1st – 7th

Who Can Become Involved?

Jr. & Sr. High youth who are members of a Christian youth group and their adult advisors may participate. It is helpful if a number of people in the group have repair skills and experience.

Don’t have a youth group? We also encourage individuals to become involved as we will be sure to connect you with one of the many groups that attend.

What Will The Teams Do?

Work teams do minor repairs to homes in the area surrounding the Christian Retreat Center . The teams help widows, dis-advantaged, and disabled people in Juniata and Mifflin County . During lunch time devotions, project crews have the opportunity to share the gospel with their neighbors.

Is It All Work?

During the week there will be free time to enjoy our 140 foot waterslide, beach volleyball, basketball, and other activities that provide relaxation and give you the opportunity to develop more meaningful relationships with one another.   In the middle of the week we take a break from the work and spend the afternoon at our local state park (Cowan’s Gap) for swimming and a cook-out. Each evening there will be a time of worship followed by a Bible study from one of our guest speakers.

What About Cost?

A week at T.I.M.S. costs $320 per person. Fees cover food, lodging, administration, and the materials for projects. You must secure medical insurance at your own cost prior to coming to camp. Even though every effort is made to create a safe working environment, the Christian Retreat Center is not responsible for accident or injury.
