Get to Know Jeff & Nettie!

Jeff and Nettie are married with one daughter Grayce Kathryn.  Grayce is named after Nettie’s Grandmother, Miss Eileen’s mother.  Grayce loves playing with our neighborhood children.  They have a special place they call “The Tree” where they meet and plan many exciting adventures!  Grayce loves to play soccer and other sports.  Her favorite part of summer is the Sunbeam Center at Roxbury Camp.

Our family lives in a cottage one mile from a Florida beach.  We love playing at the beach & swimming in the pool!

Jeff is a kind and fun loving guy.  He works for a company with big colorful trucks that clean the lines off roads, rubber off airport runways, etc…  (Our niece and nephew—Charlie and Kati call his truck a “Dr. Seuss” truck.)  He sleeps during the day because he works at night when there are fewer people driving on the roads.  He travels a lot and sees many fun places.  Jeff loves kids of all ages and is excited about being at Sunbeam Camp and sharing his love of God with you!

You already know a lot about Nettie!  Her mother is Eileen (the “Sunbeam Lady”).  She loves kids, Roxbury Sunbeam Camp, having fun, playing the piano, singing, and more,  but most importantly— she loves God.

Our family looks forward to a fun Sunbeam Camp, where we will explore and learn exciting things together about The King of the Jungle!

The Smooth Memory Challenge!!

This challenge is to exercise our great minds during the summer!!  Memorize Parts or all of the following scripture passages and recite to Miss Nettie or Mr. Jeff during camp to earn a prize!  The more you memorize, the better the prize will be!  Hint:  Take one verse a day (4th & 5th graders), two verses  per week (2nd & 3rd graders), or one verse per week (5 year olds - 1st graders) and you’ll be amazed how much you can memorize!  You may use the KJV or NIV for this challenge.

· Psalm 1

· Psalm 139

· John 1:1-14

· Hebrews 1:1, 4a, 5a, 6, 7a, 8, 10, 17a, 24, 25, 29, 30, 39, 40

· Books of the Bible, in order

For the bravest among you...:  Memorize as much of the book of Jonah as you possibly can!  When Miss Nettie was in 4th grade, she memorized the whole book!!

We’re looking forward to hearing you recite these verses from memory!!  Happy smooth memorizing!!!

The Great Bible Search

Do you love animals?  God does, too!  He made so many interesting creatures.  Get your Bible and search for places animals or creatures are mentioned.  Write down the book and the verse(s).  See how many you can find!  Bring your list to camp for a special prize.
