It’s time once again to begin thinking about getting back into the Word of God for a weekly Bible study. Hopefully everyone had a good, relaxing, restful, and fun summer with your families. There are many opportunities for adults to fellowship and find support among a group while studying the Bible together this fall. |

Women’s Bible Study
The Women’s Bible Study will meet weekly beginning on Tuesday, September 25, and running through November 20. We will be studying a very timely subject this fall. The name of the book we will be sharing together is Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World. Good news our teacher will be Pastor Pauline Allison Peifer! Pauline has led many women’s Bible studies and now we have the privilege of being taught by her here at Grantham Church.
From the back cover of the book: “An invitation for every woman who’s ever felt she isn’t godly enough, isn’t loving enough, isn’t doing enough. The life of a woman today isn’t really all that different from that of Mary and Martha in the New Testament. Like Mary, you long to sit at the Lord’s feet, but the daily demands of a busy world just won’t leave you alone. Like Martha, you love Jesus and really want to serve Him, yet you struggle with weariness, resentment, and feelings of inadequacy.” Joanna Weaver, author of the book, will bring us a fresh approach of this familiar Bible story, helping us to draw closer to our Lord while deepening our devotion, strengthening our service, and doing both with less stress and greater joy.
Please come and join in the study on Tuesday mornings from 9 11 a.m. when we all gather together for Pauline’s teaching and discussion of the material.
Beth Moore Bible Study
Our summer study of Ephesians (as taught by Beth Moore) will be continuing on Wednesday nights, as of September 12, from 6:30 8:00 p.m. through mid-November. We will be studying the practical application of amazing foundational truths of the faith. Some sample topics from Ephesians 46 are:
• Corrupt Communication (Eph. 4:29-31)
• Redeeming the Time (Eph. 5:15-18)
• The Divine Mystery of Marriage (Eph. 5:21-33)
• Prayer and the Warrior (Eph. 6:18-20)
The study requires NO homework. You are more than welcome to join us as you are able. Men and women, young and the learned are invited! We look forward to seeing you there. Childcare will be provided. The leaders are Barry & Lois DeRoos, and Jon & Heather Kidwell.

Prayer Meeting
|
The Lord gives us a great opportunity when He invites us to, “Call unto me and I will answer you!” (Jer. 33:3). We certainly have many areas in our lives, church, community, nation, and world in which we need God’s help. In what areas would you like the Lord to answer you about? Let’s not waste this great privilege! Join us in prayer at any or all of our prayer meetings:
- •Tuesdays at 12:00 p.m. Prayer Group in the library
- Wednesdays at 5:45 p.m. Prayer Meeting in Room A-1
- Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. Centering Prayer in Room A-2

Grandmothers in Prayer
|
Each month a group of grandmothers from our church meet together to pray for our grandchildren. We use a study book to focus on specific areas of grandparenting as well as to encourage us in our own spiritual growth. Some of our grandchildren live nearby, and some live far away; some are very young and others are adults. It doesn’t matter how far away they live, or what their ages are, we uphold them in our prayers. Our group meets on the fourth Thursday of each month in the church parlor (A4) at 9:30 a.m. We welcome all grandmothers who would like to meet for a time of sharing and group prayer. For further information contact Anita Hare (790-0603). |
