Prayer is an important part of community life among the people of the Grantham Church. We pray for each other and our needs in our Sunday morning worship times, and in many other settings as well. We also have times for annointing and prayer at the front of the church on a weekly basis.

The first week of January is a week of prayer for the entire Brethren in Christ family. Join us during this week of intense prayer for the denomination, as well as these regular times of prayer.

The Lord gives us a great opportunity when He invites us to, “Call unto me and I will answer you”! (Jer. 33:3). We certainly have many areas in our lives, church, community, nation, and world in which we need God’s help. What areas would you like the Lord to answer you about?

Let’s not waste this great privilege! Join us in prayer at any or all of our prayer meetings:

  • Tuesday 12:00 p.m. —Prayer Group
  • Wednesday 5:45 p.m. — Prayer Meeting
world missions prayer

The World Prayer Team meets on a Sunday evening every month except August and November. Our meetings are usually held in Room A1 at 6:30 p.m. and feature missionaries who are on home ministry or new recruits ready to go on assignment. We meet to acquaint our congregation with what is going on in world missions and to keep in touch with the Brethren in Christ World Missions program.

grandmothers in prayer
Each month a group of grandmothers from our church meet together to pray for our grandchildren. We use a study book to focus on specific areas of grandparenting as well as to encourage us in our own spiritual growth. Some of our grandchildren live nearby, and some live far away; some are very young and others are adults. It doesn’t matter how far away they live, or what their ages are, we uphold them in our prayers.

Our group meets on the fourth Thursday of each month in the church parlor (A-4) at 9:30 a.m. We are currently using the book Parents and Grandparents as Spiritual Guides by Betty Cloyd. A copy of this book is in our church library for new members to use until additional copies can be ordered.

We welcome all grandmothers who would like to meet for a time of sharing and group prayer. For further information contact Anita Hare (790-0603).

wedneday prayer meeting

We meet at 5:45 p.m. in Room A1 each Wednesday evening after the Eat & Run meal for a time of focused prayer for the ministries of the church, the world and specific needs in the community.
