A group of 12 youth and 5 chaperones went to Miami Florida to attend the BIC 2006 General Conference, July 1-3. We stayed at the Hilton's Homewood Suites on the Blue Lagoon, just south of the Miami Airport. The youth attended the evening worship sessions - with vibrant (and very loud) singing in both Spanish and English, morning youth sessions, some of the Bible quizzing tournament, and a Saturday evening church service at a local mega-church, newly adopted into the BIC, where we witnessed the installation service of the first latino Bishop of the Southeast Conference, Eduardo Llanes. The youth also spent a lot of time on the varius pools at the hotels, a cool "Venetian Pool" in Coral Gables, and a short time at a Miami beach in the Atlantic. Click any photo to enlarge. |
