Meet Missionary
Karl Leitzel
I'm 43 years old and have lived in central Pennsylvania since I was a young child. I've been married to my wife, Linda, for 20 years. We have two daughters, sixteen year old Sarah and eleven year old Rebekah. We live in a wood-sided house in the woods that we designed and helped to build. We raise a garden and heat partly with wood. Our family has never traveled together outside of the country, and we look forward to this trip as a wonderful family experience.
I've been an artist all of my life, and hope to be able to help further the work in Venezuela through photographic documentation and the medium of this website. I'm also working on redesigning and adding to the Venezuela mission's own web pages.
When Mike and Sherry Holland visited Green Grove Church last fall to update us on the work in Venezuela, several of us ended up in extensive conversation about the possibility of a group from our church going the next year. We quickly realized that a number of families were feeling a strong call to this particular project. Linda and I had been hoping for several years to be able to go on a short-term mission trip as a family. Since committing to this trip, everything has been falling in place in a way that confirms God's guiding Spirit.
It's my prayer that everyone involved will seek God's direction as we continue to prepare to minister to the people of Venezuela, and that all of us will have our eyes and hearts opened to the needs of our fellow human beings around the world.
