The Lanes
The Lanes came to Redland
Valley Church in 2001. Steve grew up in Boxford, Massachusetts
and Liz in Raleigh, North Carolina. They met at Gordon-Conwell
Theological Seminary where Steve earned his M.Div. and Liz her
M.A. in Christian Education. Steve and Liz have two boys.
Michael is 5 and Scott is 3.
Steve is an adjunct professor at Messiah College. He teaches in
the Biblical and Religious Studies department and the
Communications department. He began at messiah in 1999. He is
also a faculty member of Equipping for Ministry, (EMF) the Brethren in Christ
continuing education program. Steve also enjoys teaching
stewardship and has
done
so at various events such as the Stewardship University conferences. He is also a
volunteer financial counselor with Crown Financial Ministries.
Steve’s Doctor of Ministry thesis analyzes how faith affects
financial decisions and the concept of dedicating our resources
to God’s glory and the common good.
Steve serves on the Brethren in Christ
Pension Fund and Health Trustees, the Susquehanna Conference
Church Health Team, and Friends of TCZ, which is a prayer and
financial support to support the Theological College of
Zimbabwe.
Prior to Redland
Valley Steve served as an intern at First Congregational Church
in Boxford, Massachusetts, and then as an associate pastor at
The Grantham Brethren in Christ Church in Pennsylvania. Before
they married in 1997 Liz worked in Children’s Ministry at Menlo
Park Presbyterian Church in California and Grace Chapel in
Massachusetts. Liz also served as Children’s Pastor at The
Grantham Church for one year.
